Hello there, I have received new plates and was wondering about what to do with my old apportioned plates. Can you shed some light on this?
================
Of course. Did one or both apportioned plates remain?
Yes, both.
Then you must send in the apportioned plate and your old cab card within 30 days after you receive your new apportioned plates. Failure to return your license plates can result in suspension of your IRB account. The IRB will issue new apportioned plates that have a different number, along with a new matching cab card.
================
Great. And what if both of these plates get lost before I can send them back?
In that case you'll need to get the form Report of Lost or Stolen Motor Vehicle Items (MV-78B) from a police agency.
================
I thought so. And if they were not just lost, but stolen?
You'll have to also get form MV-78B if your items were lost because of a crime. Your items will be replaced at no fee if form MV-78B shows the items were lost because of a crime.

Is it possible to do applications by mail?
