Hello. Hope you're in good health. I came here to learn about any educational assistance you can provide to survivors.
Of course. Here you can learn about the Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance DEA program.
Are you the child or spouse of a Veteran or service member who has died, is captured or missing, or has disabilities?
Yes, I am the spouse of a Veteran.
In that case you may be able to get help paying for school or job training through the DEA program also called Chapter 35. You can find out if you're eligible for this benefit.
Sure, that'd be great. Which programs can I learn about again?
You can learn about the Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance DEA program.

What about the latter then? Do I qualify for education benefits through the DEA program?
Yes, you may be able to get these benefits if both you and the Veteran or service member meet certain eligibility requirements.
Does the Veteran fulfill the requirements?
Yes, at least I think so. Can we go over them?
Is the Veteran permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected disability?
Yes. My husband was wounded on a combat mission and has been disabled ever since.

As the Veteran's wife, is there anything I should know regarding the benefits?
Yes, your benefits start on the date we conclude that you qualify or on the date of the Veteran's death, and last for 10 years.
