Hi, i wanted to know something. I have a Foreign born U.S citizen child, is possible to me to present documents to get a original card?
================
Well, yeah, is perfectly possible for you to present documents. In fact, you'll need documents to prove you he /she is a U.S citizen, such as Certification of Report of Birht or child's U.S passport.
Do yo have any of these documents or not?
Yeah, in fact i have them, thank god. I took my previsions. But in any case i wouldn't have them, you would accept some other document?
Sure, there's an option if that's the case. We can take in account other documents such as your child's passport, so we can verify your child's age. Of course, that document must come from DHS.
Ok that's great to know it, thanks. Another question,just to be sure. You just accept certain documents, do you? i.e Certificate of report of birth? that's essential, isn't?
That's correct. That document, DS-1350, would be one of the main ones we'll need to proceed with your request.
umm, well i tought that would be the case. Say, what about child's age? is that something i have to keep in mind in order to request SSN?
Well, in fact, it is. If your child is over 12, he must come to the office in person, so he can go through an interview. Plus, we'll verify if a SSN hasn't been issued to him / her before.
Do i need to present something in that case?
Yes. You'll need to present a proof of your identity, with an non expired document.
So just to be sure, you're open to accept other documents, do you?
That's right. As said before, you can present your child's passport to us as proof of age.
