Yes, you will need to provide identification. Any document that you present to us must be current and not expired, must show your name and have identifying information included, for example, your date of birth or your age. It would be preferable if the identification had a recent photograph also

You will need to provide us with information regarding the schools that your child has attended. We may also ask you to provide copies of tax records which will show that your child never had a Social Security number assigned to them
What type of document is acceptable as my child's identification if I haven't got their passport?
In this instance, we can accept a state-issued non-driver's identification card or the adoption decree
Is there anything I should know if my child lived outside the United States for an extended period, will this cause any problems?
In this instance, you can provide a current or previous passport, school or employment records or any other record that would show any long-term residence outside of the United States. This could also be used to show that your child never had a Social Security number assigned to them
