Hello. I recently made some modifications to my vehicle, and would like to know if those have changed its class. It is registered as commercial.
================
Is your vehicle a Pick-up Truck?
That's right. A beautiful Pick-up.
Good. If your vehicle meet some requirements, based on its unladen weight, then you can register it as a "Passenger" class.
Do your vehicle's unladen weight is less then 6.001 lbs?
That would be a yes. It weights 5.765 lbs.
Excellent. That would be one of the criteria used, being the other ones the following: Vehicle doesn't have any business advertisements; and the truck is exclusively for non- commercial purposes at all.
That applies for those trucks that go over 6.000 lbs? I guess not, right?
You guessed right. For those, aside the non-commercial use, must meet the following: A camper top, with one or more side windows completely encloses the truck bed and having seats, seat fittings or camping equipment installed in the truck bed.
================
Good. Where can i see differences between classes?
You can refer to DMV Regulations and specifically on Part 106 of such rules.
I'll be able to find what kind of modification made possible that my vehicle be one or another class?
That's correct. Part 106 describes how your modifications affect your vehicle's class.

What if i have a van instead?
For those, vehicle must have at least one side window behind the drive and at least one seat or seat fitting.
