Good evening. I have some questions linked to agent orange exposure.
Of course. As you might already know, the U.S. military used Agent Orange to clear plants and trees during the Vietnam War.
Have you served in Vietnam or in or near the Korean Demilitarized Zone DMZ during the Vietnam Era or in certain related jobs?
No. I have served my country, God bless America, but I haven't been in Vietnam or Korea.
================
What do I need to file my claim?
To file a claim, you'll need to submit a medical record that shows that you have a current disability and that there's a connection between Agent Orange exposure and your current disability.
================
I see. But tell me, what if I have an illness that is connected to Agent Orange?
In that case, you won't need to show that the problem started during or got worse because of your military service. This is because we believe that certain illnesses are the result of exposure to herbicides. We refer to these as presumptive diseases.
================
And who's covered for that?
Both Veterans and qualified dependents are covered.
================
Well, makes sense. What conditions do I need to fulfill to get disability benefits from VA?
Do you have an illness we believe is caused by Agent Orange called a presumptive disease?
No, none that I know of.
Then you may be able to get disability benefits if the below descriptions are true for you.
