abstract = "We present a met hod of identifying coordinate structure scopes and determining usages of commas in sentences at the same time. All possible interpretations concerning comma usages and coordinate structure scopes are ranked by taking advantage of parallelism between conjoined phrases/clauses/sentences and calculating their similarity scores. We evaluated this method through experiments on held-out test sentences and obtained promising results: both the success ratio of interpreting commas and that of detecting CS scopes were about 80{\%}."
