<edit_comment>/* Immunoglobulin domains */ and another</edit_comment>
<edit_text>The Ig monomer is a "Y"-shaped molecule that consists of four polypeptide chains; two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains connected by disulfide bonds.<ref name = woof/> Each <strike>antibody </strike>chain is composed of structural domains called immunoglobulin (Ig) domains. These domains contain about 70-110 amino acids and are classified into different categories (for example, variable or IgV, and constant or IgC) according to their size and function.<ref></ref> They possess a characteristic immunoglobulin fold in which two beta sheets create a “sandwich” shape, held together by interactions between conserved cysteines and other charged amino acids. Although antibodies were the first molecules in which these domains were identified, Ig-like domains are found in all proteins of the immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF).</edit_text>

<turn_topicname>History</turn_topicname>
<turn_topictext>I've noticed that a lot of reviewers want to see history sections in articles when they are proposed for the higher levels (!) so I put together a little mish-mash of history that I could find out there. I can't seem to make it flow though...any good copy-editors want to have a go?? Ciar 05:13, 6 June 2007 (UTC) Ciar 21:27, 20 May 2007 (UTC) Done. TimVickers 15:57, 6 June 2007 (UTC)</turn_topictext>
