Prejudice is the negative attitude or opinion given to an individual or group that can result in stereotypes and discrimination.  An example of this would be a person that feels like women should not vote because they are not as intelligent as men to understand the political process of the institution
Discrimination is the negative treatment toward the individual or group due to prejudice that can be in favor of the dominant and can be stop.  It can be institutional such as the Jim Crow laws or can be from the dispute of society.   An example of this is a white restaurant owner banning black people because he does not want white people to sit next to black people.
