N/S: Yahoo!Sports says [Chris Johnson]e|/nfl/players/8801 wants MORE than 13 mil a year
WOW. 13 Million a year? For a position that tends to flame out quickly? RBs are risky positions to pay a lot for, but CJ2K is a unique player that changes games. Thoughts?

As you may have heard, Johnson wants a raise from the Tennessee Titans and is holding out till he gets one. The Tennessean had heard that Johnson would like to be getting $13 million annually on average over the first three years of a new deal. But now hears that "that's low" and Johnson "wants more than that."

Because breaking the bank and paying a player based on record breaking past performance always works out.

Titans aren't going to the playoffs anyway. Let him hold out, he's just losing another year before he can be a free agent.
Joel Segal usually gets his guys on the field if they want to play. This is just weird.
BTW, now that he passed the deadline to earn a year towards free agency, what would happen if he would shows up under his current contract? Does he just become a RFA at the end of the contract?

I'd trade him...he won't set that franchise back if you trade him...hut he might if you pay him that kind of money.

Too bad the new CBA didn't implement a "clueless player wage scale".

There's getting what you are worth and then there's being greedy... If they pay him that much then they are stupid.

They are not paying their QB 15-18 million a year. CJ is what makes that team go. Some teams have a franchise QB but the Titans don't so they will invest in a franchise playmaker. I understand the rb position wears out fast but a 4 year 50-55 million dollar deal wouldn't break them.

That 2000 yard season has really gotten to his head. I know his kind. The kind that feel like they're owed something and are above everyone in football. The guy is full of himself. Fact is the guy is not owed anything. He signed a contract which he is obligated to fulfill. It's plain and simple. Want more money? Ask for it when you're a free agent.

If he's the guy who is going to take you to the Superbowl, I would agree. But it's tough to tie that kind of money up in a running back when you are rebuilding.
Of course you have to sell tickets too. And without [Chris Johnson]e that may be difficult.

Of course you have to sell tickets too. And without [Chris Johnson]e that may be difficult. That is kind of my point. Who would watch them for the next four years without CJ and an old Hasselback at QB? You pay the man now and with the rookie wage scale it wouldn't kill you if you have to find a franchise QB later down the line. That is if Locker turns out to be a bust. If Locker does well then they are basically flip flopping how most teams pay their QB and RB.
